Young advertising manager Gary Sloan’s morning is interrupted by screams from the apartment next door. He investigates and finds the cleaning lady pointing to a body on the floor and sobbing. When the police arrive, Gary is quite impressed with a police detective named Marc. As the investigation progresses, Marc becomes more and more impressed with Gary, his quick mind, and kind nature. The two become friends, which turns out to be very helpful when the killer decides enough is enough. Along the way, Gary introduces Marc to some of the gayer aspects of San Francisco and Marc introduces Gary to the tranquility of the Northern California wine country.
